The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has charged a former vice chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba, and the bursar, Ibrahim Usman, on eight counts of theft and money laundering involving N1 billion.
The Kaduna Zonal Headquarters of the EFCC tweeted that the pair had been charged and appeared before Justice A.A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court.
After months of deep inspection leading up to their proceedings by the commission, a petition accusing Garba and Usman of transferring funds intended for the renovation of the well-known Kongo Conference Hotel, Zaria, from various accounts belonging to the institution into their personal accounts was filed.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said that they were Thursday arraigned before Justice A.A. Bello of the Kaduna State High Court on eight counts of theft and money laundering involving more over N1 billion.
